Job Description:

Our Project Coordination team believes good design extends beyond the physical elements of a space-good design shapes our lives, influences our behaviors and interactions, and has purpose. Our team strives to design spaces that are meaningful and memorable for our clients. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Attend client meetings and assist with determination of project requirements when needed. 2. Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the Construction Manager and project team 3. Work closely with our Construction Supervisor, Project Managers, internal consultants and Designers to plan and prepare construction working drawings and coordinate building permit applications. 4. Develop strategies to achieve work plan targets 5. Resolve complex technical issues 6. Ensure clients' needs are met in a timely and cost effective manner 7. Communicate ideas for improving company processes with a positive and constructive attitude, and for developing this attitude in others. 8. Keep the Construction Supervisor and others informed about project status and issues that may impact client relations. 9. Act as a liaison with Construction Supervisor and Project Managers in expediting projects and related information. 10. Assist the Construction Supervisor and Project Managers with issuing subcontracts and monitoring their progress and quality of work 11. Responsible for installation support activities including managing the customer expectation throughout the installation process 12. Plan and prepare construction schedules, budgets, work orders and milestones and monitor progress against established schedules 13. Schedule installation date(s) with customers JOB SPECIFICATIONS Knowledge · Knowledge of building processes and experience in construction · General knowledge of logistics , sales and business relationship techniques and principles Skills · Leadership and relationship skills with the ability to motivate and inspire team members and subcontractors · "Can-do" attitude that will positively influence the team · General to advance interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact and influence cooperation and contribution from stakeholders · Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language to communicate with operations team · Written communication skills to be concise, well-organized, complete, clear, and understandable in order to formulate reports and communicate with stakeholders, peers and office staff · Solid analytical strengths - a disciplined and knowledge based approach to decision-making, reasoning, and rational thought · Multi-tasker/hard worker - ability to prioritize and juggle several projects simultaneously and quick to adapt within one of the most dynamic working environments in the real estate industry · Willingness to learn and understand the business - a true business partner, this person is enthusiastic and willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done Education and Experience · Degree or Diploma in Construction Management and/or Architectural Technology · 5+ years of experience supporting Project Managers in the delivery of construction or renovation projects and/or project design · Experience in the residential construction industry preferred · Knowledge of AutoCad, Sketchup, Rhino, and 3DMax is an asset · Working knowledge of Ontario Building Code is required · Proficient in MS Project and MS Office Suite of products · Must have clean criminal record in Ontario/Canada Working Conditions · Substantial travel throughout Toronto and the GTA · Must have valid Ontario Driver's license and access to vehicle · Occasional bending, carrying, lifting, pulling, pushing and reaching/crouching · Ability to travel to various sites on and off property and continuously performs essential job functions Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines · Regular interruptions, multiple demands and time pressures · Various shift work, including evenings, weekends and holidays This job description indicates the general nature and level of work expected of the incumbent.
