A Tier One Contractor with an enviable reputation for delivering high quality multi award winning buildings is now looking to expand their Major Projects team. As a result they are looking for an M&E Quantity Surveyor to work on a high profile long term development outside of London. The company as a whole is currently doing a massive recruitment drive in parallel with the increase in business they are receiving. Their Major Projects team has a proven ability for delivering best value on some of the most technically demanding projects within the M&E market.|
As an M&E Quantity Surveyor you will be assisting in the cost control of the M&E Services of the projects and expected to take a leading role on some of the projects as well. You will be regularly involved in performing risk and value management in addition to advising procurement strategy. You will also play a bit in allocating work to some of the sub-contractors on the project. You will be reporting directly to the Managing Surveyor, and will be expected to advise the Project Managers of the commercial and contractual elements of the projects.
The successful candidate will need to have a qualification within Building Services or Quantity Surveying or relevant equivalent such a HNC/ HND. You will need to have experience of working as an M&E Quantity Surveyor for at least 5 years as well as a good working knowledge of both Mechanical or Electrical packages. This position will be within a vibrant commercial team and due to the nature of the role it is essential that you possess excellent communication skills as well as the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines; with no reduction in accuracy or quality of work. You will need excellent presentations and communications skills and have proficient problem solving skills. It is crucial that you have the ability to work well under pressure, the confidence to make decisive decisions and experience in meeting tight deadlines.
