Service Software Project Manager - Prince 2 Practitioner Healthcare, NHS, Hospitals, Trust, Pharmaceutical - Surrey -Permanent

Service Software Project Manager is required to manage the delivery of large volumes of various projects from training, deployment, development, configuration, client, financial & commercial aspects of sales based projects to the healthcare sector including hospitals and Trusts across the UK. The Service Software Project Manager will be responsible for the delivery of Service based projects to satisfy the customer and business needs, as detailed by a Service Delivery Manager. Working on a customer project based work the successful candidate must be skilled in delivering many projects at the same time, be comfortable working on their own as well as within a team environment, have strong stakeholder management and comfortable making key decisions


To understand, comply and develop with customers procedures, working practices and directives in a timely manner
To work with and follow the guidance of the Service Delivery Manager
To be responsible for the delivery aspects of a recurring sales solution to a client
To be responsible for the delivery aspects of service based projects
To manage delivery of Service based projects such as software version updates requiring the participation of the Service Delivery team
To attend agreed meetings with Customers to aid the delivery of the Service Delivery team based activity such as service based projects
To fully understand the service my client has been engaged to deliver
To behave as a role model and progress personal development
To be responsive to reasonable requests from your line manager
To understand our Customers` short and long term strategies
To keep abreast of ongoing and future Laboratory regulations, working practices, products and technologies
To develop and maintain rapport with end users by displaying a detailed understanding of their IT environment and Pathology issues/pressures
To understand and operate the escalation procedure, update all quality documentation, partake in the training of clients and other members of staff as and when required
To support the development of internal systems and attend agreed training courses
To attend or organise emergency visits on site as instructed, attendance of agreed meetings with Clients or carry out further on site trouble shooting where appropriate to resolve or aid the resolution of service desk incidents

Service Software Project Manager Knowledge and Skills:

Strong Project andmotivational skills - enabling delivery of tasks within a challenging environment
The use of Microsoft Project for managing project resource
Prince2 methodology knowledge for the delivery of projects
Management of multiple projects between 40 and 70 at anyone time
Strong Reporting skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; including communicating with technical and non-technical clients and staff at all levels
High levels of commitment and ability to take action when necessary
Ability and willingness to work independently
High level of customer service skills
Excellent decision making, problem solving skills ,strong planning and organisational skills
Adaptability, flexible to changing demands, ability to implement and manage change
Assertiveness and sound judgement/decisive

Education and Expertise:
Bachelor`s degree
Laboratory expertise in the UK Health sector - (desirable not essential).
Moderate skills within an IT or software providers organisation is desirable
Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience providing the knowledge/skills/abilities listed above may be substituted
