High Touch Sales Engineer

Job Purpose:

On offer is the opportunity to further your career by joining an established, highly successful Global Cyber Security organisation based in Oxfordshire. We are seeking an experienced and talented Sales Engineer to join our growing team to align with and to provide pre-sales support to Enterprise (>750 seat) and Public Sector sales reps focused on the North of England and also across the UK as part of the wider team.

Main responsibilities of the role include provision of Demo / Evaluation / POC support, forging strong relationships with customers and provide them with onsite or remote product demonstrations and answer technical questions and RFP documents. In addition to this you will work closely with sales teams as a trusted security advisor during sales calls, meetings and exhibitions. The successful candidate will have the following skills and background:

- Strong background ideally in Cyber Security and Network Firewalls or WIFI technologies
- Track record of dealing with customers of various sizes and sectors
- Proven experience of working with a customer focused, sales engineering role
- Proven track record of effective remote working
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to audiences at industry events
- Manage key aspects of the technical sales cycle including requirements gathering, demos, proof of concept, and product specification
- Support the achievement of bookings quota in the assigned territory
- Log all activity to maintain accuracy of CRM system
- Complete the technical element for RFPs drawing on internal systems and best practice for standard answers and solutions

Duties & Responsibilities:


- Act as a trusted cyber security advisor during sales cycles
- Demonstrate company solutions to prospects, customers, partners or at events
- Provide technical training for new Sales starters on company solutions
- Present & Evangelise company Solutions at Industry, partner or customer events


- Act as a key member of the company and partner selling team
- Represent the UK in product management meetings
- Cultivate strong consultative relationships with individuals in customer and partner organizations to ensure customer and partner satisfaction
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry, technical and competitive landscape to ensure the presentation and sale of the best company solutions
- Attend and support company, Partner or Customer events as required
- Support company Sales Engineers as another point of contact for customer / partner activity

Special Conditions:

- Willingness to travel - UK and Ireland with very occasional trips to Europe / USA
- Regular travel with overnight stays



- Experience of working within a large pre-sales team
- In depth experience providing software technical support to partners and end users including designing, managing, administering, and supporting technical solutions
- Knowledge of common OS and Network topologies
- Understanding impact of change to customer environments. Ability to analyse risk, use of change control and other business implications by changing solutions.
- Experience with security solutions (Anti-Malware, Data Protection, UTM, Mobile, Email and Web)


- Experience with WIFI technologies and their implementation
- Creation and Delivery of technical training to technical and non-technical people
- Proven track record of troubleshooting IT computer, server or network issues to successful resolution
- Experience with supporting virtual platforms (VMWare, Hyper-V, Xen)

Knowledge & Skills:


- Deep technical knowledge of security concepts and business requirements
- Ability to assess technical requirements and propose appropriate solutions
- Strong Presentation skills
- Strong Communication and Interpersonal skills
- Ability to thrive in a team selling environment


- Knowledge of security software industry, including competitors, market needs and trends
- Familiarity with company solutions or similar competitive products

Education & Training:


- Secondary education
- Technical background
- Comptia Security+


- Degree educated
- Cisco CCNA or Similar
- EC Council CEH



- Security Clearance (SC or DV)
