Technical Project Manager (Agile, Scrum) - Hatfield - £55,000

An exciting opportunity has arisen within a highly regarded, market-leading retail business for a Technical Project Manager. The ideal candidate will have come from a development back ground and have experience of the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).
The successful Candidate must be willing to roll their sleeves up - they will be involved very closely with technology and technology teams.

Our client, an innovative and forward thinking Technology company who believes and invests in ground-breaking and industry leading technology solutions are looking to recruit an Agile Project Manager to be based out of their Hatfield Head Office

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
You will be responsible for the management of multiple software focused Technology projects through the full project lifecycle. You will track budgets, analyse requirements, develop project and test plans, track issues and risks as they arise and work with the relevant teams to identify suitable solutions.

* Manage multiple (usually 2-4) software development projects concurrently through the full project lifecycle.
* Analyse requirements and design software solutions in co-operation with Product Owners and Technical Team Leads.
* Develop project plans and track progress of development against agreed targets.
* Track project budgets.
* Manage IT hardware delivery.
* Manage the implementation, testing and go-live stages of the project.
* Develop test plans for the various stages outlined in our methodology. Undertake, track and manage resolution of issues identified during testing within the timescales of the testing phase.
* Adapt and develop the internal methodology for IT projects.
* Liaise with the Logistics Development team and other Business teams on project requirements.
* Manage the relationship between internal IT departments and external contractors, both on and off-site.
* Check and negotiate the IT aspects of any contracts with any external contractors.
* This role could involve managing projects in our remote warehouses around the UK and the World. Consequently, travel between the head office and these sites will be required.
* During implementation periods of project, you will be expected to be available to support the business during the evenings and weekends.

Essential Skills:
* Strong technical background, Computer Science Degree background or equivalent.
* Delivery focused Project Manager with full project lifecycle experience working on ground-up, in-house software development projects.
* Able to demonstrate a proven ability to lead software development projects and ensure objectives, goals, and commitments are met.
* Strong interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building including the ability to interact with developers and technical leads in a technical manner.
* Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands.
* Knowledge and understanding of business needs with the ability to establish/maintain high level of customer trust and confidence.
* Some commercial experience as a Business Analyst or a Developer would be strongly preferable. The role requires that Project Managers can blend their role with that of a BA when the project necessitates it.
* Knowledge of SQL and its use in analysing data from relational databases is essential.
* Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and IT individuals at all levels including the executive level.
* Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the "big picture" view.

You must have managed ground-up in house development projects, as opposed to a Project Manager who rolls out software and does software upgrades etc.
This position would be an excellent opportunity for project managers wishing to handle a number of projects of varying sizes and gain hands-on experience of working within a large, market-leading environment.
