Our client design, manufacture and install highest quality bespoke lift and access solutions for a range of applications and supply these to prestigious clients throughout the world. As a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth for 2016, they are now looking to recruit an experienced, multi skilled and highly self-motivated Field Service and Installation Engineer to complement their established and successful team.
Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the role will suit an experienced field service engineer with proven skills in paying high attention to quality and detail, and who is able to work both autonomously and as part of a team. You will perform a range of service, installation, PPM and reactive maintenance and repair activities on a diverse range of lifting, access and handling equipment, so previous experience in this field will prove distinctly advantageous.
With excellent communication and customer facing skills at all levels, you will also assist in the increase in the amount of projects that the company can take on each year through effective relationship building with both new and existing clients, whilst ensuring the highest levels of workmanship and customer satisfaction are maintained. When not out in the field, you will assist in the workshop in the assembly of pre-fabricated parts for lifts and associated equipment including frames, platforms, stairs, gate/barriers and any rising posts or stair profiles before the system moves on to the final set up & testing phase.
It is envisaged that the successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills and a good academic background along with previous experience gained within an engineering service or fabrication environment. You will demonstrate a basic knowledge in hydraulics, electrics and mechanics and the ability to read both manufacturing drawings and circuit diagrams.
A skilled and methodical problem solver with keen attention to detail, experience in the lift industry would prove distinctly advantageous (although not essential) as would experience of MIG, ARC and/or TIG welding and associated British Standards. Compulsory Manual Handling Training will be provided as will asbestos awareness training to ensure safety when undertaking site visits and installs, and you will also be required to undergo the forklift training provided.
