£22000-£30000 dependent upon experience
Maloy & Flynn Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced mechanical quality inspector for a small but busy machine shop.
ROLE / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ideally the candidate will have a minimum of 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment and should be proficient at interpreting technical drawings to determine compliance with specified standards using appropriate measuring equipment. An understanding of Geometric Tolerances is preferable. The role also has responsibility for adhering to ISO 9001.
The main duties of this role are as follows:
Carry out Goods Inwards Inspection as required.
Carry out first off and running inspection ensuring that appropriate information is fed back to Machinist and/or Machine Shop Manager.
To perform Final Inspection, recording details on the company control system.
To maintain true and accurate inspection records, including inspection control cards non-conforming product and calibration, outside supplier faults and to accurately and fully record all faults found.
Ensure any non-conforming product is identified and Non-conformance Report is raised and completed as per company procedure.
To check and calibrate measurement equipment on a regular basis, as determined by the Quality System.
Ensure that any parts returned from customers are checked promptly and results verified against customer complaint.
To inform your Manager immediately so any new or serious problems are discovered.
To report any errors or omissions in drawings to the Machine Shop Manager.
Ensure all parts are correctly identified & labelled to maintain traceability.
Liaise with Design Engineers as per drawing interpretation and method of manufacture to improve production / quality.
You may also be required to carry out various other tasks at your supervisor's discretion.
Able to operate Inspecta Arm 3200 measuring arm and software (advantageous but not essential)
Proficient in the use of all measuring equipment including;
o Thread Gauges
o Depth Gauges
Certified to sling and use overhead cranes
Qualified or experienced in Engineering / Heavy industry
Sound knowledge of Windows software and good technical report writing skills.
Able to produce component inspection reports which may include recommendation of further action including rectification.
Understand and interpret engineering drawings and knowledge of CAD models.
Possesses a good working knowledge of Quality Systems ISO 9001
