The Quality Inspector performs inspection on parts sampled from various sources, including in-process, and reports non-conforming parts for review. These activities are performed in line with the company strategy, and in conformity to relevant standards.
-Conduct periodical 5S audits, develop and follow-up on remedial work plans to improve the 5S score for the inspection area.
-Be responsible for the quarantine area and maintain accurate inventory of inspection items.
-Performing inspection on incoming parts from supplier as described under the inspection determination matrix for the product centre.
-Performing inspection on first article parts as described under the part qualification plan.
-Performing inspection on parts in stock as a measure of containment activity arising from investigation of a product quality incident.
-Supports investigation and root cause analysis on a product quality incident.
-Conduct in-process inspection during the manufacturing of the product, within the production schedule and as instructed by the Quality Engineer.
-Perform quality checks on the weld penetration as per the requirement from manufacturing.
-Document all inspection records in Quality Information System. Must ensure data quality and be accountable for the accuracy of information
-Actively follow-up with manufacturing and sustaining for a decision on submitted items for review
-Assist in the rework of non-conforming parts as instructed by manufacturing, sustaining or design engineer.
-Ensuring that all inspection, measurement and test equipment required for performing inspection are within calibration.
-Be responsible for the good use and maintenance of the inspection equipment.
-Supports procurement of required inspection equipment.
-Participates and support continuous improvement initiatives in relation to inspection.
-Maintain inspection trackers and key performance indicators
-All other duties as assigned by Supervisor
-Experience in inspection of manufactured mechanical piece parts and electro-mechanical assemblies.
-Ability to accurately read engineering design drawings, associated parts lists and technical specifications.
-Ability to use calibrated measuring equipment.
-Good technical and interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written.
-Capable of working well in a team environment.
-Ability to multi-task and prioritise.
-Good attention to detail.
-Experienced with Microsoft Office Excel and Word
