Role - Manufacturing Engineer|
Location - Warwickshire, near to Redditch
Salary - £30,000 - £32,000 + Pension + 12.30 finish on a Friday
ATA Recruitment are currently working with a highly successful manufacturer of bespoke machined and turned components for the aerospace and gas turbine industries with three manufacturing sites in the Midlands. The company have a wide range of complex multi axis milling and turning machines used in their process and machine parts from exotic metals including Nickel Alloys, Titanium and Magnesium. They have ambitious plans to grow from a £30 million to £100 million business in the next five years.
Their site based close to Redditch focus on the manufacture of parts and components for the gas turbine industry, they employ around 100 people on the site which has grown from 60 in just two years. Due to expansion they are currently looking to recruit a Manufacturing Engineer who will be responsible for new product projects to determine exactly what tooling, fixtures and processes need to be used to bring the clients part/component into fruition.

The role of Manufacturing Engineer will involve:
This role will be supporting New Product Introduction projects, the company designed and manufactured 100 different new products last year.
The clients drawing will initially be sent to the manufacturing team where you will take the 3D model and turn it into a flat component, from there you will need to establish what processes will need to be applied to make the finished part.
Processes on the shop floor include flatbed lasering, 5 axis laser, manual milling, hydraulic press tooling, welding (TIG) and grinding.
The Manufacturing Engineer will model the part in Solidworks and design the press tooling and fixtures required.
* A sample will then be manufactured where you will then assess what issues there have been and trial again with improvements until the finished part is achieved.
* You could be developing up to 10 new parts at one time which could take 3-6 months to go through the whole development, sourcing and trialling stages.
* Sometimes the tool design and manufacture is sub contracted out so you will need to liaise with these suppliers when this happened to monitor progress.
To be successful in your application for Manufacturing Engineer you will need:
Experience working in a Manufacturing/Production or Process engineering role within the Oil & Gas, Gas Turbine, Aerospace or Automotive sectors.
Experience working with processes which have involved changing the shape of metal, this could be tooling, laser cutting, bending and pressing to name a few.
The role will involve a small amount of design work so familiarity with CAD software would be needed.
Basic Salary up to £32,000
