The Company:

Their UK manufacturing and distribution network is coordinated from our head office in Bradford, West Yorkshire, which holds extensive stocks of metals and non-metallic sheeting materials and features cutting-edge robotic manufacturing equipment.

The Role:

Reporting directly to the Production Manager, the role is to lead a team of operators in the achievement of performance targets in a designated area of the factory. In addition, the role will have responsibility for continuously improving performance in the section by engaging team members and promoting best practice, machine reliability and personnel accountability.

You will be a vital link in the factory management structure, as it plays a key role in ensuring that the factory is as efficient, flexible and competitive as it possibly can be.

You will create a real positive environment on the shop floor, encouraging operators to take ownership for monitoring machine performance, collecting data and generating ideas and solutions.

As a production team leader you will have the responsibility for the machine shop, managing around twenty operatives over two shifts and will ensure that production is in line with the agreed production plan, ensuring that performance within your area is maximized. You will achieve this through careful monitoring, identifying trends acting upon opportunities to increase performance.

You will run daily meetings along with weekly briefings to ensure your team are clearly focused on their key objectives in delivering the production plan. Leading and working with your team, you will monitor the effectiveness of machinery, to ensure performance consistency and reliability.


You will have experience in a machine shop manufacturing environment. Operations and production experience in a fast moving industry, managing a team of operators. You should have good communication skills and be able to motivate new and experienced staff. Good man management skills and experience of Lean practices essential.

Reporting to: Production Manager

Office Hours: Mon - Thurs 8.00am - 4.30 pm with a 30min unpaid lunch break

Friday 8.00am - 3.30pm

Wage: £11.73 per hour
