We are currently looking for a Perceived Quality Lead Engineer to work for a major Automotive organisation based in Coventry and India

Job Title: Perceived Quality Lead Engineer
Location: Coventry and India
Rate: Up to £50,000 per annum or £30-35ph
Duration: Perm and Contract rates available
Hours: 45 per week

The Role:
*As the Perceived Quality (PQ) Lead Engineer you will be responsible for the delivery of perceived quality on new vehicle programs

Key responsibilities:
*Complete PQ benchmarking of competitor vehicles, including design execution, section analysis & materials selection to support the development of new vehicles
*Advise and set PQ targets for new vehicle programs
*Working together with design and engineering departments, use virtual visualisation techniques to review intended A surface, and engineering execution on Exterior and Interior Components.
*Lead cross functional reviews to drive and resolve key PQ issues to improve product level craftsmanship
*Create, update and release section book for Exterior and Interior
*Manage the creation of physical models, and validate perceived quality execution
*Complete PQ audits of prototype and launch vehicles, ensuring targets and glide path are being achieved
*Provide leadership to a project team based in India

Skills and Experience Required:
*Degree qualified with five years' automotive experience is required as a minimum
*Must demonstrate an appreciation of craftsmanship, visual quality and possess an attention to detail
*Be able to demonstrate the ability to lead the resolution of technical issues within a cross functional team environment
*Capable of defining, developing and managing complex projects autonomously with minimal need for support from a Program Manager and meeting customer requirements
*Strong analytical skills, with high creativity levels and a good understanding of modern and future technologies
*Previous experience of managing a team of engineers is preferred, to deliver projects on time and in budget
*Understands roles and needs of different client groups; with supporting evidence of working effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve results
*Is a strong communicator in meetings and presentation forums at different levels within organisations
*Experience of using CAD (Catia) and visualisation tools, also understanding of surface creation software

Additional Information:
*Travel to India will be imperative to manage the local team and to feedback to the customer. Plan to be in India for at least 25-50% of the project where working will be 6-day week
