GDMS has an immediate opening for a Senior Logistics Engineer to join our Colorado Springs, CO team. The position provides an opportunity to develop the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. GDMS employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to design, develop and manage a variety of logistic support solutions for GDMS and its clients. Senior Logistics Engineers develop and administer integrated logistics strategies, provides logistic support to field organizations and/or customers, including spare or replacement parts and supplies, and ensure customer service and time objectives are achieved within existing financial constraints in order to maximize sales and profit for company and customer. Additionally, Senior Logistics Engineers ensure the execution and continuous improvement of standard logistics processes.

Senior Logistics Engineers develop and manages logistics data in databases or spreadsheets. Determines and documents maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, test, and calibration requirements for fielded systems/equipment. Establishes design criteria for incorporating maintenance and supportability capabilities into products and proposals. Investigates and resolves problems of post delivery operation, service and maintenance including generation of field maintenance bulletins. Develops maintenance procedures and instructions to be included in technical manuals and training materials.

  • May act as a team leader, thus contributing to the successful execution of a major program.
  • May mentor more junior staff and ensure solutions are consistent with organization and customer objectives.
  • Exercise creative thinking and ideation to advance our business performance.
  • Deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet customers' changing business needs.
  • Support and engage in programs, projects and practices behind the GDMS culture and strategy, and comply with all policies and procedures.
  • Follow industry and department trends and developments to ensure GDMS services are consistent with, and/or superior to, industry best practices.

Basic Qualifications:

Candidates should demonstrate sophisticated problem solving skills, as well as an ability to design, develop and implement innovative General Dynamics Mission Systems business solutions.

Senior Logistics Engineers must have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related specialty or the equivalent, and five to eight years of related experience. Applicants with a master's degree and three to five years of professional experience also qualify.

Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
