The purpose of this role is to motivate and assist with leading the Building Services team to deliver high quality services through Technical Excellence. To develop the initial design specifications and ensure the effective delivery of building design and maintenance solutions ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and industry best practices. To provide design and project supervisory skills across a wide range of projects. To assist with the inspection, implementation and control of maintenance, alterations and refurbishments to Commercial properties. To promote continual professional development and training of the team across technical and professional areas to achieve the agreed financial, commercial, utilisation and growth targets and to contribute towards the vision, values aims and objectives of the Unity Partnership and the wider property group.|
To assist with leading the Building Services team to ensure professionalism and delivery of technical excellence, adopting current and innovative industry solutions and legislative compliance whilst also adhering to Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Management Systems.
To ensure that all works are dealt with efficiently, effectively and economically within agreed targets, budgets and programmes, ensuring client approval is sought to any variations.
To pro-actively monitor and report the progress of work to ensure quality and projects are completed within the timescales and costs agreed.
To assist with robust Performance Management processes within the team ensuring that staff are clear about expectations and standards of performance required.
To obtain and manage the costs of works by obtaining estimates, quotations, tenders or through Framework Agreements as required.
Develop and validate specifications and drawings, inspect/approve methods statements and supervise contractor works, to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and associated codes of practice to deliver technical excellence.
To commit to continual professional development to ensure you are fully up to date with industry practice and standards.
To contribute to interactivity between service areas, including the wider Mouchel group to ensure collaborative working and contractual delivery of work plans.
Must proactively demonstrate at all times a commitment to high levels of customer service and care concerning internal and external clients, plus the general public.
Must contribute to the aims of the wider Property Service Line
To contribute to the business Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) agenda.
Any other duties commensurate with the post including the performance of duties outside normal working hours
HND in Electrical Engineering/Building Services or equivalent (Essential)
Qualifications supported by extensive relevant experience may be considered as equivalent.
Chartered Membership of Relevant Building Services body (Desirable)
Knowledge/ Experience Required:
Detailed Electrical Building Services experience.
Experience of the design of electrical systems to latest industry technical standards.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Project Delivery experience
High level of expertise in the area in order to be an effective member of the team.
Experience of energy conservation, sustainability and renewable technologies
Knowledge and experience of Building Energy Management systems.
Interpretation of customer requirements and preparation of detail design drawings and calculations to meet the needs of both internal and external clients
Knowledge and application of current regulations, legislation, codes of practice and current design standards applicable to electrical building services installations
Working knowledge of CDM Regulations and requirements on designers
Experience within a multi-disciplinary professional environment in the design/management/maintenance of buildings and have knowledge of contracts and standard ordering procedures.
Extensive inspection/management experience. Use of CAD/Revit drawing packages
Ability to supervise and assist with the development of staff.
Knowledge of BIM
