The company plans, builds and operates renewable power generation facilities, and aims to vigorously grow its renewable energy capacity in the UK and Continental Europe as well as carrying out significant refurbishing projects on its existing assets. If you would like to get involved you will be part of the Development and Projects team who is responsible for the development and delivery of a significant investment programme in new build and existing asset enhancement hydro projects.

Hydro Power experience

The Job
The Hydro Project Manager is primarily responsible for the delivery of a number of projects associated with the maintenance and enhancement our existing hydro generation plant and will vary in value from approximately £50k to £2M. If you are successful you will be responsible for the development of the project scope, preparation of specifications, tender process, project execution and handover of the projects to the operations team. Skills and experience required
Degree in mechanical or multi-disciplined engineering
Experience in hydropower or similar industry involving large rotating machinery, pipelines and water control equipment.
Experience of working within an operational plant, including understanding of Safe Systems of Work, isolation procedures and constraints imposed by production.
Experience of developing technical solutions through own engineering capabilities and by engaging other engineering support
Experienced in the specification and management of engineering contracts, including supply only, design and build as well as site works and installation.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with all levels of the business on both a technical and managerial level.
Good teamwork skills and ability to work in multi-discipline engineering environment, including flexibility to learn about, and manage, other disciplines.
Ability to managing consultants to optimise solutions with respect to performance, program, quality and cost.
Ability to follow formal procurement processes, including the review of supplier contracts and successful negotiation of terms and cost.
Ability to managing project-related change, considering and managing technical and commercial aspects.
Sound knowledge of primary H&S and environmental legislation, particularly Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations
