Senior PLC Software Engineer - Yorkshire - Special Purpose Machinery - £42-47k + bonus + overtime|
Samuel Frank Associates require an experienced Software PLC Software Engineer to join a very well established, award winning and well regarded special purpose machine manufacturer in the Yorkshire area. In order to attain their ambitious growth plans the client needs to add a Senior PLC Software Engineer to give them the structure required to grow the team further.
The client is looking for a seasoned PLC Software Engineer with experience of software design of industrial automation systems for a manufacturing /special purpose machinery environment from scratch. Previous experience of working with either or both Allen Bradley PLCs and Siemens S7 PLCs is required.
This is a fantastic chance to join a very well regarded business with a full order book. The position will suit an Engineer with 7-10 years post education experience.
Applicants must have experience in the following areas -
Writing PLC software code for industrial automation applications from scratch ( Siemens and/or Rockwell / Allen Bradley )
Designing systems for servo motion control for special purpose machinery
Lead Engineer or Senior Engineer experience - been involved in coaching/mentoring of others (candidates who have the technical skills described and feel they're ready to take the step up to a lead role will also be considered).
Applicants with experience of the following will be considered favourably -
Full design and integration of robotic systems into automation solutions ( Staubli, Kuka etc.)
Full design and integration of vision systems ( Cognex ) into industrial automation systems.
Key responsibilities include -
Provide a high level of skill in interpreting the customer's and regulatory requirements to ensure software designs are aligned.
Ensure that design quality is maintained throughout the project
Communicate accurate project status to the Software Manager, internal and external customers and suppliers
Knowledge of British and international standards relating to the design and installation of industrial automation systems as well as experience of conducting assessments and generating technical documents to support the compliance to the Machinery Directive and other British and international standards will stand you in good stead for this opportunity.
