For over 20 years we have been making architecture move. This is a rare opportunity to join our team of designers working on exciting, inspirational projects. Our projects include moving and transforming rooflights, walls, floors, staircases and even furniture. This is an excellent role for a graduate design engineer, with scope to become involved in product development, design and innovation. The role will be mostly office based but will also involve some hands-on fabrication and on-site installation. Candidates will have a degree in engineering design, industrial design or similar discipline. Relevant industry experience is an advantage. The successful candidate will: - be able to demonstrate a good understanding of engineering design principles, strength in technical aspects of design engineering and detailing and an interest in automation, control systems and electronics. - be interested how things are put together and ideally be able to demonstrate the ability to be a hands-on maker. - have excellent communication, mathematics, IT skills, creative and problem-solving abilities. - have the personality to be able to blend into a small and friendly team. - have the confidence to work within a wider design team of other consultants and to be able to communicate directly with our Clients and in-house installation team. - be self-motivated and able to meet deadlines under pressure. - be able to motivate others as the role will ultimately involve project management responsibilities. - be competent in 2D AutoCAD. - be fluent in Solidworks. An initial 3-month trial period will lead to a permanent full-time job with excellent professional development opportunities for the right candidate. All applicants must be legally allowed to work in the UK for a minimum of 2 years (work visa or EU resident). Please send your CV, covering letter detailing why you want to work with us and samples of your work to us. Applications without all three elements will NOT BE CONSIDERED. Please note that only successful applicants will be contacted. Thank you
