Nuclear fusion, the process that powers the Sun, can play a big part in our carbon-free energy future. RACE is a business unit within the UK Atomic Energy Authority specialising in remote handling and automated systems. As part of the global programme for fusion, RACE is developing remote handling systems for the next generations of power stations. We have a rare and outstanding opportunity for a motivated Lead Technologist who will develop and implement a strategy in autonomous vehicles to support UKAEA growth through non-fusion enterprises. You will enjoy a high level of autonomy in this client facing internationally visible role and work closely with RAS & Smart City communities, Universities and Industry. This is a new position which has the potential to provide a successful and rewarding career in a technically exciting and diverse market place. The successful candidate will have proven experience of business & strategic development, coupled with a sound engineering / science background and has contacts within the AV community. You will need the flexibility to travel internationally, sometimes at relatively short notice, to attend various marketing events, conferences and customer or collaborator locations.
