Purpose of the job: As an embedded systems engineer you will be part of a multinational team based in the UK developing automotive products for a worldwide OEM. Each engineer within the team will be responsible for the specification of one or more vehicle functions potentially running across several Engine Control Units(ECUs) requiring liaison with both the OEM and multiple suppliers. Key tasks / Responsibilities: Architecture definition Writing requirements in line with performance regulation security demands Allocation of requirements to system components Safety study management Validation plan definition Validation report analysis System planning management Fault management Management of the system configuration in order to achieve the desired performance Mandatory skills: 1-5 years experience in systems engineering for embedded systems ideally in an automotive environment. Sound knowledge and understanding of the development lifecycle for engineering systems is required. Understanding of both Controller Area Network (CAN) and Local Interconnect Network (LIN) protocols is necessary. Strong communication skills as you will be required to interface with representatives of both the vehicle manufacturer and the ECU suppliers. Candidates will ideally be educated to degree level and be able to demonstrate previous experience of working in automotive engineering within an ISO26262 environment.
