Engineering Project Manager - Automotive Automated Machinery & Equipment - Deeside, Flintshire £45,000 - £50,000 Health Pension Benefits-Package This business specialises in the design and manufacture of highly technical automated machinery & equipment for the automotive & aerospace industry. They have gone through extensive growth in recent years and are seeking to expand into new markets and grow further over the coming years. There are three parts to project management in the business; sales, engineering and delivery. This role is focused on the delivery end, picking the project up from design and taking it through to completion (installation and commissioning). You will act as the main contact to the customer (JLR and Bentley for example) managing the quality standards and efficiency of the project, so this is a very customer facing role which will suit someone who communicates very well and enjoys dealing directly with end users. Define and communicate clear project deliverables and performance targets with customers. Manage all aspects of assigned projects to meet profitability and financial targets, delivering products and services in line with customer needs, within timing expectations, and the long-term success of the organization. Manage projects with responsibility for project planning, development, and change management; input to budget development and updating; clearly defining assigned project deliverables to the program manager; risk mitigation; proposal / quote / processing; material procurement planning, assembly, installation, and change management for assigned projects. Coordinate assigned project relationships and expectations in conjunction with overall program deliverables. Liaise with Engineering support teams to deliver design approvals to plan. Track performance of the manufacturing team to ensure on-time delivery. Provide on-site direction to assigned project technicians to ensure completion of defined support duties beginning with system integrator testing, Plant introduction, and long term system support. This is a key appointment in a business that will provide superb development and progression opportunities that will require the following skills & experience: Degree qualified in an Engineering related discipline. Member of the Association for Project Management (APM). Background the automotive industry is important. Proven track record in delivering high-value projects. Ability to demonstrate time and people management skills, with experience of lean engineering principles. Excellent communication skills, with experience working within a fast moving environment.
