Your Role: We are recruiting a Software Planning & Integration engineer for our Dunton office. Responsibilities: - Create list of feature content for a specific program - Assess content for gaps and correct feature version information - Produce application and validation plans - Produce function and feature by phase plans for all planed releases - Produce functional implementation plans as required - Schedule feature updates and report status to management and project control - Work with validation team to meet validation plan timing - Manage and Track SW costs for all supplier programs - Issue design change requests for all supplier programs - Plan and schedule all software change requests and implementation errors as required into software release plans - Update FDVS - Lead SW CPMT meetings - Leading application software (SW) builds and release process for calibration team. This includes conducting the software builds - Manage and perform experimental development software releases to calibration team. - Perform SW acceptance and release testing (to check suitability/provide an initial functionality assessment of a specific application SW release/build to support specific controls & calibration development work). This includes hands on debugging in vehicle, dyno and HIL benches. - Lead application SW validation planning and issue resolution and support software feature engineering testing on vehicle, dyno and HIL benches. - Review Plan and feedback concerns during integration process due to incompatible feature content - Review install guides and feedback concerns found - Modify mortise code, section map, list file, complier commands, etc - Compile and link all planned content based on the above to produce preliminary and file Deliverables: - SW Delivery Plan (Content & Timing) - Feature & Function by Phase Plans - ECM/PCM FIP Input - Integrator Assessments - Approval of Validated SW - Package Feature Requirement Documents (FRDs) for supplier programs into SW SRD information - Generate Design Change Requests - Strategy Documentation (i.e. C Books, models) - Application Label - Verified Application Plan - Plug-In Compiled Objects - Software (uncalibrated) Your Profile As a Software Planning & Integration engineer you will be fundamental to our ability to deliver to our customers and clients. Our customer expectations are high; as such we are looking for adaptive driven people to deliver on time to required quality. The ideal candidate will possess creative problem-solving skills in a team environment and comfortable with communicating clearly and efficiently throughout varying levels of both the customer and Altran businesses. Due to the nature of the assignments undertaken by Altran you will work in an environment that promotes autonomy and initiative, requiring a flexible attitude. Above all you will have a desire to progress. Position Objectives: Plan, program specific software application release to support program vehicle builds and calibration testing. Compile and link all planned feature software content to produce the uncalibrated software and it corresponding documentation for the calibration teams. Qualifications and Experience (essential): - Engineering Degree to BEng/BSc or higher, ideally with significant Control or Systems Engineering content. - A good understanding of powertrain systems. - Experience of, or enthusiasm to learn, software tools used for requirements capture and system specification. - Experience of software testing in a HIL and vehicle environment. - Experience of automotive software calibration tools e.g. INCA or ATI. - Good communication skills Salary: £30,000 to £50,000 In addition to the culture and career development opportunities at Altran, we offer a matched pension scheme, healthcare and generous holiday allowance.
