JOB: Account Manager (Automotive Trim) Sector: Automotive 1st tier supply Location: Birmingham area Salary: Circa £45,000 Car package Our client is a Midlands based major supplier of components to the automotive sector, due to continued sucsses and forthcoming retirement they require an experienced Automotive Account Manager with a solid engineering background to join their team. This is an ideal opportunity for an established Automotive Account manager (ideally with knowledge of trim) to step into a major role managing an international account and become a key member of the management team. Alternatively you may be a Project / Programme Manager from a similar background with excellent customer facing, presentation and commercial acumen looking to move into an Account Management role whilst still being able to fully utilise your engineering skills. Account Manager, Main Purpose: To be responsible for the continued development of a Key Account and to develop additional customers in all Company product offerings. Account Manager, Responsibilities/Accountabilities: Lead internal discussions ref enquiries/prepare internal cost breakdowns/submit quotes in a timely manner/ lead discussion to secure new business. Monitor commodities markets ref steel - plastics and manage no erosion impact on Company and monitor exchange rates and manage no erosion impact on Lander. Secure new business in all commodity areas. Meet regularly with relevant Account personnel at all levels that are engaged within the product groups that fit with the business, must span all engineering and commercial positions through to VP level. Provide feedback to the Senior Management Team regarding future customer requirements and expectations in the product areas that we are either in already or that we seek to engage on. As a part of this we will need to assess our own strengths, weaknesses and capability to support customers in a manner that delivers sourcing and growth. Trim - other opportunities, will need to maximise companies current position further opportunities not only around the current product groups but also those areas that would benefit from our skill sets. Identifies Business Development ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements; tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments. Locates and proposes potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities. Screening potential business deals by analysing market strategies, deal requirements, potential and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities. Developing negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new opportunities with company strategies and operations; examining risks; estimating customers' needs and goals. Closing new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations. Any other duties that may be required to support the needs of the business Account Manager Experience/Skills: Experience within an 1st Tier automotive components supplier with TS16949 quality management system is essential. An understanding of Lean manufacturing processes and tools is advantageous. Hands on - self motivator. Stay aware of market trends.
