Location: Avonmouth Role Title: Weekend Transport Operator To provide support to the transport management team ensuring activities of the transport function are carried out on time and are accurate Achievement of targets, deliveries on time, maintaining team morale, achievement of personal development objectives. Ensure all vehicles meet transport legislation and any defects reported are rectified in accordance with the fleet operations policy To support the management team in supervising the transport operation on a shift basis, ensuring optimum use of resources in a cost efficient manner whilst meeting and exceeding the customers service and performance criteria General Accountabilities To proactively motivate drivers and admin support colleagues to achieve planned departmental targets Direct the work of team members Maintain records and review documents prepared by the team Monitor performance of team members Report any breaches of Health & Safety regulations and incidents/accidents Communicate work practices, procedures and methods to team members, as required Perform additional duties as assigned by management Monitor team performance and allocate tasks where required Ensure driver tachographs are completed, checked, analysed in accordance with legislations Conduct team communication sessions (team briefs) Ensure drivers fully comply with driver's hour's legislation and all Traffic Act Regulations Assist the managers in investigating and preventing vehicle and personnel accidents thereby ensuring compliance with Health and Safety procedures and legislation Performance Indicators Achievement of KPI's targets Health & Safety Record Deliveries on time Customer Complaints Reduction in RTC Team morale Achievement of personal development objectives Ensure that every activity is carried out with an emphasis on ``best`` practice. Promotes change when needed Qualifications & Experiences Essential High school (secondary) education IT skills using Microsoft Word and Excel spreadsheets 6 months work experience Desireable GCSE English & Maths Ability to follow work procedures and safety rules Ability to read, understand, and follow directions/instructions Ability to communicate effectively with team members Any Other Requirements Ability and Flexibility to work shifts Ability to work within a rapidly changing environment
