Job Purpose: The role is to maintain all plant and machinery in a timely and efficient manner. To carry out scheduled routine maintenance of machines and supporting services and to fault find and repair machines as required. You will be part of a planned maintenance team. Typical Responsibilities: · Carry out repairs to plant, machinery and equipment to minimise lost time due to breakdown · Planned Preventative Maintenance · As required carry out major refurbishment of plant, equipment and machinery · Project work and Continuous Improvements · Adhere to all Company and Health & Safety procedures and legislation · To investigate reported faults, identify the cause and decide the necessary course of action to rectify the fault. · To isolate the machine and make safe as required. · Electrical repairs may involve working with up to 415 volts AC or DC current. · Mechanical repairs would entail dismantling and re-assembling of machine components including any hydraulic or pneumatic systems. · To be aware of and observe personal health and safety, and that of fellow members. · Co-operate with Managers. · The ideal candidate will be expected to work on all current and future company sites. Education & Experience: · Strong, practical engineering background · The ideal candidate will be conversant with present and emerging technology, with an up to date knowledge of equipment and techniques · Understanding of Engineering, manufacturing and operational processes and standards · Experience of fault-finding and repairing CNC multi-axis machines. · Ability to find faults using machine drawings and documentation. · Flexible approach to work i.e. you will be expected to work until the job at hand is complete · Self-motivated and able to prioritise own workload · Good overall fitness and agility is required due to the nature of the job. · Ideally, you should have served an apprenticeship with an associated engineering qualification; you should be 17 th edition compliant, with experience of hands on maintenance. · Conversant with Fanuc, Siemens and Mitsubishi controls. Training: At the management's discretion, some of the following training may be offered. · Jib Crane · Hand Truck · Manual handling · Other training as required Personal Protective Equipment: In order to perform the duties as safely as possible, the candidate will be required to abide by the use of following PPE · Overalls · Safety Glasses · Safety shoes / Boots · Ear protection, Hand Gloves and Masks if required. Working Pattern: Full time permanent position Five day, 37.5 hours per week Day shift, 08:00 to 16:00 Knowledge / Skills - Strong engineering knowledge - Understanding of Engineering and operational processes and standards -Up to date knowledge about equipment and techniques Experience & Training -Strong practical engineers background Qualifications N/A Personal Qualities - Ability to work as part of a team - Ability to adapt to changes in working practice - Self-starter with ability to follow direction -Good overall fitness and agility is required to carry out work in awkward positions This job was originally posted as NA
