HQ3994 Logistics Operator Location: North London Benefits: Pension scheme, life assurance cover plus others A Logistics Operator is required to oversee receipt, storage and movement of stock for an established and highly successful marine equipment company. Following and upholding company procedure at all times, the Logistics Operator will ensure deliveries are handled safely, efficiently and in a secure and controlled manner. Where required the Logistics Operator will ensure records are kept up to date through input of data accurately and compiling reports as required. Applications from ex-military personnel are strongly encouraged. Previous experience in stores or warehousing; receiving goods in, picking, packing and despatch is essential. The Logistics Operator must be able to uphold and carry out various administrative duties and meet tight deadlines. This role requires manual handling and lifting throughout the day. The role does involve some work outside. Candidates will be required to complete a security vetting form when their application is submitted. Responsibilities: Ensure the working environment is safe by upholding health and safety standards Oversee and carry out the warehouse process from receipt of orders through to despatch Compile pack lists Identify potential item shortages by regularly updating stock records When required, ensure approval is sought for certain items prior to picking Uphold daily stock counting and so identify discrepancies between records and stock Identify which consumables are running low and ensure replacements are ordered Receive deliveries ensuring they are delivered within the agreed time frame and despatch Identify faulty stock and return to supplier Uphold company security policies within the warehouse Carry out picking and packing accurately to reflect customer order requests Consistently and regularly update stock records to reflect picking and packing activity Identify necessary write off of stock and associated disposal Knowledge, skills and qualifications required: Essential: Motivated 'Can do' attitude Able to work independently Excellent communication skills Team player Physically fit Flexibility with working hours and willing to work overtime if required Computer literate Desirable: Fork lift licence is desirable but not essential as there will be opportunity to receive in-house training if successful Interested applicants will be expected to complete and return by email a simple application form to which CVs must be pasted.
