Oldham Seals Ltd design, manufacture and market Jetpac® and Firepac® rubber pipe systems including flexible hose assemblies, small bore flexible hoses with aerospace sector certification, valve control cables, composite valves and other associated products. See NA for further information. This position reports to the Joint Managing Directors and is part of the company's management team. Working primarily with the Senior Technical Manager, Production Manager, Design & Drawing Office, Sales Department, Stores and the CNC machinery shop, to ensure our products are fit for purpose, consistent and meet internal and external requirements including meeting customer expectations whilst making sure the company is working as effectively as possible. The position is directly responsible for the work of the Quality Engineer, Quality Technician, Senior Inspector and Tester. Duties include: Manage the quality system : Implement and maintain company procedures to ensure compliance with national standards ISO 9000, AQAP, Def Stan 05/91, AS9100. Manage and maintain all quality and inspection functions and associated resources. Manage and maintain company audit programme and ensure communication and implementation of corrective actions. Manage, review and maintain calibration system. Implement and maintain 1 st level quality procedures and documentation and liaise with customer on release. Review and release all products to customer requirements. Review purchase orders for quality requirements and accuracy and manage approved suppliers through supplier assurance function. Review of internal and supplier non-conformance and ensure communication and implementation of resulting preventative and corrective actions. Investigate customer returns/complaints and ensure communication of non-conformances and implementation of resulting corrective actions. Assist production/design in resolving documentation errors and anomalies. Monitor quality and company performance and report monthly at production meetings and annually to the directors of the company through the Management Review Report. This is a key position requiring liaison with other managers and staff throughout the organisation to ensure the quality management system is functioning properly, to advise on changes where necessary and provide the training, tools and techniques to enable others to achieve quality standards and improve the business. Qualifications through the Chartered Quality Institute and experience in management positions is required to show industry-specific competence and evidence of the following skills: communication; problem solving; organisation and problem solving; numerical and statistical analysis; team working; and appreciation of other work disciplines in particular engineering and sales. 23 working days annual leave per annum plus statutory public holidays are offered.
