Job Summary
• Provide OHS advice and guidance to Factory Management.
• Implement the Company's OHS Policy and Procedures thereby ensuring the health safety and welfare of the workforce and end meeting the businesses statutory obligations to being compliant with all current
OHS Legislation.
• Supervise the site shift trainers

Key Accountabilities:
1. Risk Management:

•Ensure General, Manual Handling, Repetitive Handling, COSHH, Health, Noise, Fire, and Display Screen Assessments are conducted, recorded and reviewed periodically for all work activities.
•Lead the Risk Assessment Workshop Committee to ensure appropriate solutions are identified to control the identified or foreseeable risks. Manage, monitor and review the implementation of the corrective actions.
•Chair monthly OHS Meetings, Record and distribute the Minutes of the Meeting. Monitor and review completion of the follow up activities.
•Along with the site Trainers, conduct OHS Induction, Manual Handling and Work Safety Essentials Training. Conduct Tool Box Talks on a variety of subject matter as and when required. Organise external OHS training and in conjunction with HR maintain Safety training records.
•Ensure all OHS activities (as outlined in the site OHS Responsibility Structure) are conducted in a timely manner and maintain documentary evidence.
•Lead Accident Investigations to ensure the route cause is established, what lessons have been learnt and ensure action is taken to prevent a reoccurrence. Encourage the reporting of and respond to Near Miss Incidents. Encourage hazard reporting and respond to.
•Conduct regular site audits and record the findings. Ensure any corrective actions are conducted, monitor and review.
•Ensure the correct PPE is available and used at all times. Monitor and control PPE via a PPE Register for each employee. Make spot checks on condition and usage of correct PPE.
•Ensure through shift trainers that site SOP's are up to date


•Produce monthly OHS reports and submit to Group OHS Manager or her Deputy. Produce site based Accident Statistics.
•Maintain OHS Notice Board and keep employees informed of any relevant changes.
•Conduct a monthly OHS Campaign on relevant topics. Campaigns should be designed so that a measurable improvement can be identified following the campaign.
•Be main point of contact for site training issues Customer visits, for example BRC.

3. Administration:

•Liaise and respond to internal and external agencies, general OHS administration and record keeping.
•ROSPA - achieve Gold level award through following best practice and reducing accident rates. Maintain ISO 18001
•Liaising with Group Training Coordinator, ensuring training matrix up to date and relevant training courses are arranged for hourly paid staff.

Education, Experience and Capabilities:
NEBOSH General Certificate
