Due to continued growth, our client is now looking to make the key hire of a Software Engineer
Our client is seeking an outstanding, hands-on engineer who can contribute to the development of their technology stack and operate strategically. The Software Engineer will possess a thorough knowledge of data structures, algorithms and OOP principles, along with a knowledge of general purpose languages such as Java. An understanding of electronics and embedded software would be a plus
You will need to be focused on building a fantastic product for end users, passionate about changing healthcare and improving patient care and demonstrate a desire to be part of a rapidly growing startup
The current stack is built in Java in a micro-service architecture, using Docker containers with PostgreSql and HBase for data storage. The company uses Consul as a central service registry and Kafka as a message bus.
The stack ingests data from wearable devices via a REST API, and then uses novel signal processing algorithms to convert these into vital signs. This includes use of machine learning models utilising pre-existing vital signs datasets.
After conversion to vital signs, the company uses risk analysis algorithms to identify highest and lowest risk patients. Initially this is based around already validated early warning scores, but the company aims to build machine learning models that can calculate the probability of a patient becoming sick in the coming days.
Information from the device is consumed via mobile applications, developed in Ionic and Cordova.
Other tools used: Grizzly, Jersey, Oltu, Kafka, Consul, Gradle, Teamcity, Codeship, Github, Invision, Sketch, Datadog, Rollbar, Papertrail and Pager Duty.
We are looking for candidates with proven industrial or commercial experience, having worked as a Software Engineer using the technologies, platforms and languages outlined. In addition, you will need to demonstrate that you are committed to building a fantastic product for end users, passionate about changing healthcare and improving patient care and demonstrate a desire to be part of a rapidly growing startup
This is an excellent opportunity to join an exciting Start-up business going through a period of growth. The relevant candidate will benefit from a competitive salary plus a comprehensive benefits package. The company also encourages it's employees to develop professionally and it is likely that there will be opportunities to progress within, for the right candidate.
