Web Content Officer- Walthamstow- 2 month contract- £14ph LTD/umbrella
We require a Web Content Officer to support the work of the Web Officer within a large public sector organisation;
Help with the day-to-day operation of the Education website (The Hub)
Ensure the Education website is of high quality and user-focused
Provide training, support and advice to the website users (LA staff, childcare providers, schools etc.)
The successful candidate will have:
Knowledge and experience of using Drupal 7 Content Management System (CMS) for managing content on websites
Ability to write, edit and structure information so that it works effectively on the web
Ability to identify and resolve user problems as they relate to the Education web site
Experience of working on web sites in a local authority or similar
Experience of website design, development and management
Experience of undertaking an auditing and policing role against website standards
Experience of carrying out marketing, communications or public information work
Experience of providing advice and direction on using the web as a business and communications tool
Experience of providing training and support on using the Internet and on producing and managing online information using web tools
Must be a team player but also be able to work on own initiative and to manage own work
Good oral and written communication skills in formal and informal settings
Ability to influence colleagues to ensure the best outcome for all parties concerned
Good knowledge of how a website can be used for marketing and communications and as a business tool

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
-Ensuring the effective day-to-day operation of the Education website to deliver information, e-services, and marketing and communications activity to the Education community.
-Assist with the day-to-day production requirements of the Education website, working with officers within the team and across the Council to deliver effective corporate communications
-Work with directorate based staff to ensure high standards in web content
-Monitor the performance of the Education website; liaising with colleagues to compile statistics and reports, cascading information reports to the relevant officer; and taking appropriate action to address performance issues
-Maintain the quality of content published on the Education website
-Be responsible for the development and implementation of defined projects as directed
