Welding Engineer

My client is a design, manufacture and installation business for highly bespoke fabricated systems for the power generation, aerospace and oil and gas industries. The company turns over £30 million a year and have been trading for over a century.

The business has to constantly ensure they fully understand the documentation required to carry out the wide range of MIG, TIG and MAG welding they carry out in house as well as manage the welding processes they sub contract out to other companies.

As a result they are looking to recruit a Welding Engineer to ensure all in house and external welding activities are in line with regulations and expected standards as well as support the management of quality systems in house. Please apply on line now for immediate consideration.

The Role

As a Welding Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring all the in house welding and supplier welding are all certified and documented to the correct standards. This will include:

Reviewing welding qualifications and certifications for suppliers.

Carrying out assessments on suppliers welding processes including site audits.

To maintain quality records in relation to welding processes.

To carry out inspection of welded equipment produced by suppliers.

To ensure suppliers fully understand welding process requirements.

Auditing the in house welding processes carried out in the Derbyshire manufacturing plant.

* This will include ensuring the welders have the appropriate credentials for work and the correct welding operations are in place for work being processed as as well as spot audits for welding.

The Candidate

* To be successful in your application for Welding Engineer you will need:

A strong understand of MIG, TIG or MAG welding processes.

Experience in reviewing welding documentation and processes.

There is the possibility in time to move into a Quality Management role within the business if you are interested in progression.

* Someone with strong attention and detail.
