Position Overview
To control the work flow ensuring components progress through the engineering and manufacturing processes effectively and efficiently whilst adhering to HPE and customer quality and time frame requirements.

Evaluating and ensuring compliance with contractual, specification and quality requirements.

Essential Job Functions
Progress components through the engineering and manufacturing workflow
Assess priorities and expedites
Ensure bottlenecks are understood and rectified
Ensure progress is to plan
Report on progress to customer and management teams
Building strong liaisons with customers and understanding their requirements
Hold progress review meetings internally to control projects

Requirements - Knowledge/Skill
Knowledge and use of planning, monitoring and controlling software
Understand the value stream (training provided)
Project Management skills
IT competencies to include MS office suite
Good knowledge of machining and sub contract processes
Be able to deal with the complexities of the business to understand and convey complex requirements
Ensure manufacturing plan is adhered to - on track and under control
Escalate production problems in a timely manner
Liaise with other internal departments to achieve success
Instigate and lead stakeholder meetings
Ideally would have gained knowledge/skills in a similar environment - either in automotive/aerospace engineering
Knowledge of engineering practices and processes

Requirements - Experience
Ideally would have a proven track record of planning and production controlling experience in a similar engineering environment.
Nuclear systems knowledge/experience would be an advantage

Requirements- Qualifications
Ideally apprentice trained in mechanical engineering to HNC or above

Other Skills/Abilities
Excellent communication skills
Organised and methodical
Flexible and resilient
Knowledge of Preactor (capacity planning and scheduling software) would be an advantage

Key Performance Indicators
OTIF for all customers
Adherence to plan shown on customer scorecard
Customer delivery requirements met
