Civil Design Engineer (Senior)|

Day rate - £350 - £420 DoE

Edgar Stewart's client urgently requires a Senior Civil Design Engineer to be based on site at Winfrith.
In this job, you will act as the lead engineer within the Civil Discipline, you will work within the Decommissioning Programme providing fit for purpose engineering solutions for complex projects ensuring that design authority standards and configuration control are applied appropriately. You will provide more complex engineering solutions to higher profile projects, underpinned by a high level of technical knowledge and experience and be involved with the specification of works, support design work as well as support execution of works on site.
In addition, you will plan and manage the delivery of design and engineering tasks and will lead areas of design, particularly areas relevant to their engineering discipline, from concept through to commissioning.
Furthermore, you will be required to act as an expert for their discipline which will include carrying out engineering assessments, providing general engineering support, and providing professional advice to the programme.
Our client is ideally looking for candidates with a degree qualification within Civil Engineering as well as a professional membership with an appropriate professional institution e.g. ICE
You will have a broad applied engineering background with at least 10 years' relevant experience, preferably in nuclear decommissioning or an equivalent highly regulated industry, with at least 5 years' relevant experience at a senior level.
Our client needs candidates with at least 5 years' experience of managing large engineering and design projects from concept through to commissioning to meet project time, cost and quality requirements, preferably in nuclear decommissioning and/or related engineering projects.
You must have an understanding of national engineering standards, Nuclear Site Licence conditions and Quality Management System requirements including Engineering Design Processes.
Candidates familiar with with HSE and CDM regulations, including CDM Principal Designer role, EA regulations, BS and Nuclear standards will be considered highly desirable.
In return Our Client is offering a 12-month (+) contract, coupled with a competitive rate of pay that will incorporate travel and subsistence. In addition, you may also be able to work flexible working hours.
