Job Title - Maintenance Team Leader

Salary - £38,087

Shift - continentals (4 on 4 off)

Location - Leicester

The company

My Client is one of the largest manufacturers in their product. Based in Leicester they currently supply 80% of the countries supply and producing over 40 tonnes per day. They will supply to the big supermarkets like Morrison's, Tesco's, Asda, Mark's and Spencer's and many more. With a turnover of over £250m and growing they are looking for a Maintenance Team Leader to join their fantastic team in the Midlands.

The reason for the Maintenance Team Leader role is due to the fact my client is growing. They are looking to gain another plant next year so progression may be available at this point.

The Role

My Client is currently hiring for a Maintenance Team Leader to help keep breakdowns to a minimum.

As a successful Maintenance Team Leader, you will be hands on whilst also covering the leadership side. Along with covering breakdowns and PPM's you will be required to delegate any tasks / job descriptions received from the engineering manager to the engineers. Hands off side you will be required to check all paperwork / logs, making sure all tasks are complete, ordering new parts etc.

Day one you will receive an induction to the company and machinery - once you are up to speed to the point they require you should then be able to work comfortably off your own initiative.

My client is hiring for a Maintenance Team Leader to cover breakdowns, PPM's and manage the team in an orderly way delegating any tasks out that are required. Currently they have equipment such as slicers, conveyors, presses, check weighers, rollers, ovens and more. 80% of your time will be covering breakdowns and 20% PPM. They are currently trying to minimise the breakdowns to 40% and be proactive rather than reactive.

On day one you will be put through any training necessary and an induction will be taken place. After any shadowing and training needed you will then be required to attend any breakdowns and carry out any PPM's / Tasks delegated to yourself and be able to work off your own initiative tasking out maintenance engineers and completing any paperwork required.

The Candidate

The right Maintenance Team Leader will have the following skills and experience:

* Apprentice trained or equivalent (NVQ Level 3, BTEC, City & Guilds, etc).
* Food background is an advantage but not essential.
* Come from an automated background
* Have 2+ years management experience

My client is looking for someone who is willing to dive in and get their hands dirty. If you come from a food background, I would be very keen on talking to you but I will not rule out people from a different industry.
