We are currently looking for a People (HR) Director to lead our Western Canada People Team.

The People Director provides People leadership to the WorleyParsons Canada West business across offices in Calgary and Edmonton. The role participates as a member of the executive team for Canada West and provides input into the leadership and management of the operation from the business and people (circa 1300) perspective. The role leads the development and implementation of People group initiatives to enable the delivery of the Canada West business plan.

The role leads the People team in Canada West and works collaboratively as part of the function across North America driving best practice, efficiency and effectiveness across the region.

This is a true generalist role that span's a tactical to strategic agenda and is well suited to someone who leads by example, is curious and collaborative and committed to developing HR talent in their pursuit of business objectives.

Accountabilities include:
  • Developing, implementing and assessing People plans, programs and performance in support of the Canada West strategic direction. Identifies opportunities to leverage common goals and actions across business lines.
  • Coach and develops the Canada West People team, embedding the Business Partnering functional model. Supports and facilitates the work activities of direct reports in providing HR programs and services to the Canada West.
  • Coach and consult the Canada West Executive team across the suite of HR related activities
  • Partners with and accesses regional and global expertise as required and to support the consistent implementation and application of People programs.
  • Ensures that Initiatives are implemented with appropriate project management and management of change rigor.
  • Represents Canada West at the Regional HR table, provides input on behalf of the operations to the development and implementation of regional and global HR programs, and leads initiatives across the Country or Region as identified.
  • Liaises with business lines and client representatives as required in regard to contract issues, HR policies, and organizational change initiatives.
  • Ensures company compliance with relevant legislation and procedures and effectively manages employment law risk.
  • Provides for ongoing education of leaders and staff around employment standards, human rights, and privacy legislation.
  • Within the constraints of the delegation of authority, negotiates and contracts with external consultants and services as necessary to support the delivery of HR programs that required a specialized level of knowledge not available internally.
  • Support and implement the vision and framework of our Management System, 'OneWay' by aligning and continuously improving our systems, standards and processes to ensure the overall integrity of our Management System. Champion all elements of OneWay.


• Considerable and current experience in a HR operations leadership role (10 years)
• Demonstrable experience leading change initiatives.
• Project management skills.
• Related degree
• CHRP designation is an asset.
• Broad experience across the full spectrum of a HR function, including advising at Senior Executive levels.
• Unquestioned integrity
• Resilience and tenacity and high emotional intelligence
• Strong strategic business planning skills
