Job Title: Field Team Leader - Environment Agency (REF17959)
Part Time - 18.5 hours’ temporary role with the end date of March 2018.
Location: Ely near Cambridge
Contract Length: ASAP to 31/03/18
Security Clearance Level Required: BPSS (DS) - Baseline Personnel Security Standard (with a Disclosure Scotland)

This is a permanent PART TIME role 18.5 hours / week (job share of a full time role)

Job description

As Field Team Leader you’ll be responsible for the ongoing maintenance and improvements to some of our most important mechanical and electrical river structures in the Great Ouse Catchment (Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire), which are essential for managing flood risk to people and property. You’ll be managing a skilled technical team with strong electrical and mechanical expertise. You’ll be responsible for overseeing programmes of maintenance works and ensuring successful delivery of important engineering projects. You’ll be working with external partners, suppliers and landowners and you’ll also work closely with internal teams to plan the future maintenance needs for the catchment. The team Joining our Field team MEICA (mechanical electrical instrumentation control and automation), you will job share with an experienced manager to lead a skilled technical team maintaining flood risk structures, such as flood gates and reservoir control structures. These ultimately protect people, property and wildlife. You’ll also be a member of the Operations Leadership team, working closely with our Asset Performance team, in house work force and contractors to deliver an effective asset management service.

Skills/experience You’re a strong leader with experience of managing technical teams and a proven track record of delivering projects and programmes. You can motivate, inspire and lead. You’ll have exceptional communication and networking skills, and will be confident working with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels. • Strong leadership and management capabilities • Coaching and mentoring skills to get the best out of people, deliver through others and develop people • Experience in the delivery of flood risk management or civil engineering projects and programmes • Experience of working with communities and landowners, to deliver an excellent customer service • Strong budget management capabilities
