M&E – Major contractor experience.
We are looking for a Quality Health & Safety professional to join the business. This role would suit someone who is looking for a step up in their career.
Ideally you will have strong Health and safety experience gained with a major contractor within a M&E environment. Ideally with CDM experience (but not essential).

Reporting to: QEHS Specialist

Job summary:
• Assist with the continual improvement & maintenance of the Division management system and promote a positive culture
• Provide an internal auditing function.
• Provide relevant support, guidance and training on issues
• Assist with the business with the implementation of management system requirements
• Promote compliance with JCI Global Directives, Division documented department procedures, local regulatory requirements and relevant Global Standards / best practice under the guidance of the QEHS Specialist.
• Engage with the business on our journey towards Zero Harm to people and the environment
• Evidence EHS Inductions for all new/transferred employees.

• Performance against local internal / external audit requirements
• Corrective/Preventive Action Tracker issues / closure dates
• Performance against department training requirements
• Project deadlines
• Etools Goals

• Auditing of Company activities.
• Facilitating, attending and evidencing minutes at Management Review Meetings.
• Following up of all corrective and preventive action, to a satisfactory conclusion.
• The day to day management of the local processes and procedures
• Reporting failures of implementation and action of the above to Specialist.
• Assist with the continual improvement and maintenance of the Management system under guidance of the Specialist.
• Act as region representative for all internal and external D audits.
• Actively participate in EHS Committee Meetings within the region.
• Assist in identifying training needs, maintain training records and provide training where required under the guidance of the QEHS Specialist
• Provide support and assistance to operational Departments for site based department issues, e.g. Method Statements, Risk Assessments and EHS Questionnaires.
• Assist with accident and incident investigations, dangerous occurrences and near misses under the guidance of the QEHS Specialist.
• To evidence and record reports as required on accidents, incidents and near misses to MyTycoEHS and advise the QEHS Specialist
• To undertake improvement projects as advised by QEHS Specialist
• Promotion of a strong department culture.
• Attending and participating in meetings as requested by the business
• Ensure safe working practices are adhered to at all times.
• To ensure business Goals and Objectives are implemented.
• Engage with the business on our journey towards Zero Harm to people and the environment
• Any other duties in line with the position as required.

Person Specification:
• Ability to work as part of a team towards a common goal.
• Ability to manage and motivate all employees on department issues
• A recognised quality and/or auditor qualification e.g. QA Internal Auditor training
• Experience in a similar Quality, Safety or Environmental Role
• Must be able to work unsupervised, be self-motivated and be persuasive at all levels
• Must be able to produce results and meet targets
• Must be a good communicator with excellent computer literacy
• Knowledge or a working understanding BS EN ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 and BS EN ISO 14001
• Must be able to influence others, often without authority over them, to produce desired results
• Must have excellent interpersonal and people management skills
• Must be a good communicator and computer literate (Microsoft office)
• Travel & possible overnight stays are required
• Holder of a current driving licence
