This role will be responsible for driving cost center, management reporting and data mining, ops analytics, commissions, and sales/commercial support activities

Strong analytical skills required

Travel Requirements: 50% during first year, afterwards ~15%. Mainly international travel to Continental Europe

Essential Job Responsibilities

Responsible for driving regional sales/commercial support activities, including: budgeting/forecasting and projections, customer / product line profitability and margin analysis, pricing support, quota setting, and vertical market support

Provide regional cost center analysis support, including: cost center analytics, budgeting/ forecasting, functional support, investment support, restructuring packages, REBC’s, and CER’s

Responsible for driving regional FP&A management reporting and data mining and manipulation, including: utilisation of standard management reports, ops review packages, automated standard reports, geographic reports, vertical market reports, revenue and margin dashboards and customer profitability reports

Responsible for supporting regional operational analytics and support activities, including key business drivers: service analysis, installation analysis, sourcing analysis and tracking, labour mix rates, burden rate reporting and analysis, and working capital

Responsible for regional commissions activities, including: commission calculations, analytics, and payroll submission

Perform ad hoc business case analysis, create financial models, and manipulate and analyse data, identifying trends to support the growth of the business

Apply professional judgment based on the analysis of quantitative data and information. Screens, categorises and resolves data integrity issues

Maintain close alignment with all customers of the FP&A Support Services teams to ensure their requirements are being met (i.e. Cost Center Analysis team, Management Reporting, Operational and Commercial Support teams, Business Partners etc.

Maintain basic understanding of business operations/environment within the team in order to provide Operating Review commentary

Drive the creation and maintenance of process documentation for activities which reside within team in order to drive standardisation and best practices

Support the optimization of the FP&A organization including centralization of activities from Continental Europe countries to Cork, Ireland, driving continuous process improvement and participating in special projects (e.g. Essbase implementation)


Required Competencies

  • Fluent (spoken and written) in English and in German
  • Bachelors in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent degree required. Masters level preferred
  • 3-5 years of related finance/accounting experience; ability to organise and manage multiple priorities simultaneously; strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrate ability to identify and implement change, adhere to deadlines, provide value-added analyses to assist finance leaders to make informed decisions
  • Must have knowledge and understanding of financial and business management principles with the ability to communicate and prioritize business requirements. Must have extensive knowledge of P&L, forecasting and understand the impact cyclical trends.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive and solution oriented approach toward business issues
  • Resourceful self-starter who can work with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement in a dynamic environment, striving to exceed expectations

  • Advanced Excel (Macros, modeling, pivot tables, and lookups), Power Point, Word, Outlook
  • Oracle Essbase Spreadsheet - Experience is a must, highly efficient
  • Oracle ERP - Experience with GL and AP
  • Baan – Experienced
  • Crystal Reports - Experienced
  • High travel requirement during transition
