Our Client is looking for a software engineer to join their Toronto office (1 year contract), this rock star will create policy content for Client's flagship solution. You will be a critical contributor to the Data Collection & Assessment (DCA) team and work on adding support for new platforms and develop custom SCAP compliant content. This position requires inquisitive individuals that can quickly grasp new frameworks, operating systems and applications. Job Responsibilities: · Work closely with fellow engineers on a scrum team to refine requirements, research, design, and implement new policy functionality (Java framework enhancements) and policies (xml content). · Create and maintain testing environments for policy building efforts. · Create automation where appropriate to enhance the team's productivity. · Test content quality, triage and fix defects as needed. Desired Skills and Experience Required qualifications: · Experience in Java object oriented software development (5 years). · Mastery of XML in Java. · Working knowledge with XSLT, XPath, & XQuery in Java. · Exposure to testing methodologies, test plans, and the defect reporting processes. · Solid experience in Linux and Windows system administration and configuration. · Mastery of both verbal and written English is a must. Major pluses: · Experience developing SCAL/XCCDF/OVAL compliant XML content. · Experience with C/C++, LISP and other programming languages. · Hands on experience in at least one scripting language, (e.g. Ruby, Python etc.). · Familiarity with the security industry, previous experience with VM tools preferred. · Experience with AWS, VMware vSphere / ESX Server, and virtualized test environments. · Experience in source control tools (GitHub). · Experience with Java and release tools (Ant, Maven, Jenkins). · Basic experience in computer networking - OSI model, TCP/IP, CIFS, WMI, SSH, common protocols, etc.
