Health & Safety Advisor - Construction - London

My client is a £100m turnover, regionally structured Civil Engineering contractor who specialise in Earthworks and Infrastructure projects worth up to £70m. Their client includes Blue Chip Developers, Local Authorities and Highways England.

They have three regional divisions within the UK - London, Bristol and Yorkshire - and each region is experienced continued growth. Due to this ever-growing order book, my client is actively looking to recruit a Health & Safety Advisor for West London.

Overview of Role

The role of the HSE advisor is to assist the Health and Safety Manager and his team in promoting the highest standards of Health & Safety performance and behaviour within the Company. Specifically the role will include:

Health and Safety

Supporting the Management teams to ensure that all works are planned and managed in a safe manner
Reviewing and approving Health and Safety plans
Reviewing and approving Risk Assessments and Method Statements
Reviewing and approving Sub-contractor Risk Assessments and Method Statements
Monitoring and reporting Health and Safety performance
Accident, incident and near miss investigation and reporting
Carrying out safety inspections and audits
Liaising with the Client, HSE Inspectorate and other Contractor's Safety Officers and maintaining good communication with all relevant statutory and regulatory bodies
Assisting with training requirements and delivering training, instruction and guidance as required
The promotion of safety culture and continuous safety improvement within the Company and specifically the Incident and Injury Free Program
Attendance at regional safety groups, meetings and committees
Maintaining an up to date knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety practice, guidance and legislation


Similar duties to those detailed above will apply to the environmental aspects of the Company and training will be given in this role.
