An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Building Surveyor to work within Central Government on a contract basis. The position will be based in London for an initial 6 month contract offering up to a maximum of £450 per day LTD.|
Senior Building Surveyor required by DfE. Working in a small team of 5-7 staff, must have previous experience in similar position of seniority. Some travel may be required.
The post holder will:
Be a key point of point of expertise and knowledge within the EFA on the delivery of condition surveys, the development and management of planned preventative maintenance schedules, lifecycle planning and the development of technical aspects of advice on such matters to a fragmented education estate management community.
Contribute to the development of policy, advice to stakeholders, the collation and reporting of good practice and where necessary benchmarking.
Contribute to the development and delivery of a long term and sustainable programme for the collection and maintenance of data on the condition of the whole education estate.
Manage a team of other building surveying and asset management experts, ensuring that they contribute effectively to competing priorities across the team, division and wider EFA/DfE.
Work closely across the Division and the wider EFA and DfE to provide timely and robust advice and support to senior colleagues, the development of policy and ministers.
Must have degree in Construction or Asset Management or similar subject.
Must be member of RICS / BIFM.
Must have proven experience in similar role.
Experience of undertaking building/asset condition surveys
Experience of developing estate strategies and advice and support to those responsible for the operational management of the estate
Experience of developing and/or managing planned preventative maintenance schedules, lifecycle planning and/or working with large condition data sets.
This role can be based in either the London, Sheffield, Darlington, Manchester, Nottingham or Coventry DfE office but with frequent travel to London and/or other EFA locations.
