Business Intelligence Analyst/Developer (Qlikview/Tableau)|
Permanent - Up to £50k
Large Consultancy firm
My client is a well-known international consultancy offering strategic advice and technology services to clients within multiple sectors.
The role of the Business Intelligence Analyst is to provide data solutions by building Tableau/Qlikview dashboards that will showcase the insights that the team are attempting to deliver. This is an autonomous role and the successful candidate will have a demonstrative ability to engage stakeholders, understand the projects that they are working on and be able to tell a story around the data that will help clients to understand how and why these insights will achieve the overall goals within each project.
A typical day would include liaison with external suppliers to determine data required, management and transformation of that data, liaison with the internal consultants and the design/build of BI dashboards that help clients to understand the data.
You would also be responsible for the development and maintenance of database and BI tools. This also includes staying abreast of best practice and changes that will nurture an atmosphere of innovation and staying ahead of the curve in terms of BI technical advancements.
Excellent communication - This role is sometimes client facing. Every day would involve the need to collaborate with team members and internal stakeholders. You will occasionally support the wider business and work with other departments depending on the projects that are ongoing.
An appreciable knowledge of data security - As this is a large consultancy with many blue-chip clients, it is imperative that you understand and take responsibility for data security and store procedures.
'Go-to' person for data/BI requirements - Able to mentor other data-driven members and explain complex ideas to sometimes non-technical managers and clients.
Problem-solving ability - As the data is mostly primary research data and qualitative it is important that you are able to make sense of it, analyse it and identify ways of using it that sometimes question preconceived ideas.
Confident and motivated - It is important that you are able to work with colleagues and clients to provide value in the data. Be curious and inquisitive. Challenge the status-quo. Have the confidence to convince colleagues and clients as to why there is a need to utilise certain data.
