Big data science company in Manchester have an amazing opportunity for a Senior Data Developer to work in their Innovation Technology team. The role will involve the design and development of data technology, being the focal point for new technology architecture, and leading the way with open source tools in the Hadoop and Spark environment.|
You'll be part of a large project that is moving from their old proprietary systems to open source, creating the next generation data platform.
This is a role for someone who is comfortable working at a senior level, developing solutions for clients, conducting code reviews, writing automated tests and working in continuous delivery.
The company are a global organisation who are going through great growth. It's a fast paced and exciting environment, and you'll need to keep up with the latest technologies.
It's based in their central Manchester office with easy commuting links.
You will receive 25 days leave, a good bonus scheme and a flexible benefits package. On the last Friday of the month the whole company finish at 2pm, and 4pm on all other Fridays.
Strong Hadoop / Spark skills
Strong knowledge of open source
Skills in high level programming - eg Python, Java, Scala
Experience with very large data sets
Strong process automation skills
Any experience in the following would be an advantage:
C / C++
Hive, Pig, Impala, SQOOP, MapReduce
