Customer Application / Software Support Engineer required by an international software company based in Bracknell, where the key focus is on resolving customers technical issues, whether it be 'behind the firewall' or hosted by their Cloud Operations.

As well as a good technical ability, the position requires excellent communication and customer management skills, with technical support being provided to global customers with large deployments and high expectations within strict SLA's.

Key Responsibilities:

- Understand the firm's products in their entirety and demonstrate the ability to help customers find solutions to their issues
- Provide telephone and written support to the firm's customers, resolving technical problems of varied complexity
- Manage support tickets and customer issues independently
- Perform initial troubleshooting work using all available knowledge resources, including log file analysis
- Ensure high customer satisfaction through prompt handling of tickets, communication with customers and adherence to SLA's

Skills and Experience:

- Knowledge of UNIX and Windows Operating Systems
- Experience with RDBMS and SQL programming like Oracle, IBM DB2 and MS SQL Server
- Experience of supporting and troubleshooting J2EE applications required (debug, stack traces, system issues)
- Experience with Application Server and Web server technology like JBoss, BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, IIS, TOMcat/Apache, IBM HTTP Server
- Strong background in Customer Support
- Highly committed individual with a background in a problem solving environment
