Customer Validation Lead - Peterborough - 57,000 / 60,000|
Customer Validation Lead - Peterborough - UK - ALH Recruitment are looking to recruit a Customer Validation Lead for a world leading manufacturing company based in Peterborough, in Cambridgeshire.
To work within a customer facing team that can provide support for all customers through test phases of new products and software releases, along with close interaction with Customer Programme Managers and R&D project teams.
Throughout testing activities it is expected that a client portal for raising and managing bug-fixes is established. The test/defect planner will own the defect management process, to enable them to track and re-plan when fixes are available for defects identified attend regular client defect/triage sessions.
Build a high performance test team to work alongside SW/HW and mechanical development teams as an integrated part of new project delivery process.
Level of motivation and spirit within the Test & Validation team (employee survey, attrition rate etc)
Plan equipment and rescources to support product testing
Identify skills/manpower/equipment requirements
To offer advice and test capability for software, electronic and mechanical component approvals.
Be aware of all regulatory requirements for metering products
Build a flexible capability within the test department to support the fluctuating demands of customer programs
Establish and maintain appropriate test metrics for each project
Maintain a full understanding of best practice test and analysis methods for demonstrating products.
Area's of responsibility;
To manage and co-ordinate testing activities requires internally and externally from industry/regulatory bodies and clients requirements to ensure that products are tested in line with standards set from all sources, ensuring test plans are aligned and optimized resources and facilities are used in an appropriate way.
Leadership, Planning and Execution
Ensure that the team operates within all relevant health and safety policies and procedures.
Setting, monitoring and regularly reviewing of performance objectives of team members and timely management of performance issues.
Effectively manage, coach and motivate direct reports
Support and develop a team environment that promotes self-learning, continuous individual and team improvement and working practices
Align team members behind overall product development roadmap
Provide technical assistance to team members to overcome developmental and organizational obstacles to prevent project delays
Manage risks, unforeseen problems and escalations
Foster an organizational environment for innovative product development
Support Implementation of corporate strategy with respect to the development of products for the business line.
Previous test management at both programme and work-stream (project) level
Experience of testing software driven electronic products
Experience of testing products based on platforms and shared code base
Experience of determine and rationalizing test automation strategy, smoke test strategy and manual test strategy
Working knowledge of tools for collaborative testing such as JIRA
Experience of management of system and integration testing and acceptance testing phases (from both a supplier and customer perspective)
