The Sales Engineer will focus on managing and developing existing OEM's/Tier1/Service Provider/Enterprise Accounts, whilst identifying new opportunities to grow revenue and customer base.

Keeping up to speed with market information and trends will be imperative. As an expert in your field, customers will look to you for guidance, allowing you to resolve queries and generate sales using a consultative methodology.

This technical position will involve everything from estimating and producing quotations through to product demonstrations to how the solution meets the customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

* Managing and interpreting customer requirements
* Making technical presentations and demonstrating how a product will meet client needs
* Design and create solutions for clients needs
* Developing long-term relationships with clients, through managing and interpreting their requirements
* Providing pre-sales technical assistance and product education
* Working on after-sales support services and providing technical back up as required
* Persuading clients that a product or service best satisfies their needs in terms of quality, price and delivery
* Negotiating tender and contract terms and conditions to meet both client and company needs
* Calculating client quotations and administering client accounts
* Arranging and carrying out product training
* Analysing costs and sales
* Liaising with other members of the sales team and other technical experts
* Providing training and producing support material for other members of the sales team
* Co-ordinating sales projects
* Developing opportunities for new key enterprise clients and maximising client potential in designated regions
* Supporting marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events
* Expected to continually enhance your expertise through relevant training courses

You will need to have:

* Bachelors degree in a relevant field, i.e. Electronic Engineering/Computer Science etc (or equivalent qualification or experience)
* Minimum 3 years in a technical sales engineer role within the Telecoms/IT industry, specifically involved in Cisco products and services
* Cisco Certified (such as CCNA, CCNP etc)

* Strong capabilities in root cause analysis and problem solving skills
* Experience working in large scale IT customisation and implementation projects with the ability to translate customer needs
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex ideas to non-technical audiences
* Self-Starter and learner who is able to grasp new technologies, processes and information quickly and relay this to others confidently
* Ability to work under pressure while prioritising multiple assignments
* Always delivers on commitments, on time and to a consistently high quality
* Self motivation and tenacity, together with a great hunger for delivering outstanding levels of service
* An exceptional team player
* Technical writing skills

* Excellent communication and relationship building skills, at all levels
* Excellent project management and organisational skills
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent commercial awareness, sound judgement and detail orientated

You must be fluent in Malay or Tamil and English. Cantonese or Mandarin an advantage also.

A full driving licence is normally essential for travelling to various clients
