CNC Programmer/Setter/Operator - Miller for a St Neots based sub contract manufacturing company. The CNC Programmer/Setter/Operator - Miller will be working on a Mazak mill with Mazatrol controls and a Cincinnati mill with Fanuc controls. The programming will be carried put using CAD/CAM at the machines. As this will be a sub contract environment the CNC Programmer/Setter/Operator - Miller will be working mostly on small batches, working from client drawings. The majority of the work is on large machined castings. However despite the size of the parts machined you will be working to tight tolerances.
Ideally the CNC Programmer/Setter/Operator - Miller would have come from a subcontractor background as opposed to a production machining environment. Apprentice trained is great but time served candidates with programming experience will be more than capable to carry out this role.
The client works in a number of industries such as sub sea, automotive, aerospace as well as general engineering, it is also part of a group of companies across the UK which enables it to compete for work on a bigger scale.
Standard working hours are 7.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday and 7.30am to 12.30pm on a Friday with 30 minutes lunch break and a 10 minute morning break. Core hours of 39 hours per week.
There is also the possibility of an afternoon shift and the standard working hours are 3pm to 11pm Monday to Friday.
Overtime is available at the start and finish of the shift, typically 3 hours per day ands this is paid at time one and a half.
The afternoon shift attracts a premium of time one and a quarter.
There is parking on site as well as a canteen and the the client is not far from the A1 and close to a major supermarket.
You will be expected to have a basic tool kit and work boots although the client supply most of the tools (e.g. Inspection tools as you will need to inspect your work)
This is a Small to Medium sized company (although part of a bigger group of companies) so would suit CNC Programmer/Setter/Operators who like to work in a small teams.
