Building Works Supervisor, Client Direct, London, £37,500|
I am currently recruiting for a Building Works Supervisor to join a globally known site based in Central London / West End for a major redevelopment project. You will be required to work Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm and be rewarded with a base salary of up to £37,500. In this role you will supervisor the on-going works as well sub-contractors and report directly into the Facilities Manager sitting separately from the original team.
The post holder is responsible for the delivery of assigned minor projects and supervising major projects through daily auditing and checking progress and liaising with the project and installation teams. This shall also include coordination with Building and Facilities department staff, contractors and users affected by the works. This post directly reports to the Project manager within the B&F department.
Monitoring of programme against progress is essential and coordination with stakeholders is required to ensure minimal disruption when carrying out integration of new Fabric and structural requirements to the existing building. Trials may be required to be undertaken to assess the impact to determine the safe vibration limits that can be undertaken whilst not affecting internal conditions for paintings.
A good understanding of Health and safety is essential to ensure method statements and risk assessments are audited and agree prior to any work being undertaken. The post holder will also contribute to the development of strategy for fabric maintenance with specific emphasis on increasing efficiency and reducing overall costs.
Additional duties will be to oversee and manage Reactive and Planned preventative fabric maintenance carrying out audits with particular consideration to the safety of the collection, public and staff.
For this role it is preferred that the successful candidate will have experience managing projects in grade 1 or 2 listed buildings and also have managed on-going works whilst a building is still being used and/or opened to the general public.
