We are looking for someone who will take full responsibility for the audit, control and measurement of the companies material suppliers. The role will ensure that the company receive top quality product and service at all times and will investigate, root cause and make recommendations on how to proceed with suppliers who do not meet that requirement. Supplier visits are required to review and monitor supplier base, but also to educate and develop existing and new suppliers on the company's requirements and standards and to provide suppliers with recommendations for improvement where applicable.
Key Duties will include:
Supplier Development: To drive Suppliers to achieve leading world class quality performances for incoming products
Record and maintain supplier PPM data for all production related supply.
Working with the Procurement, Planning and logistics teams to maintain Supplier Scorecard for strategic suppliers from a quality perspective.
Conduct regular Supplier visits and facilitate Supplier Audits based on supplier performance and / or audit schedule
Working closely with the Buying and Planning / Logistics teams, coordinate all supplier activity related to supplier non-conformance. EG: Facilitate 8D process, containment, sort, rectification, follow up & close out.
Investigate root cause of supplier related quality concerns - and provide assistance to the supplier as and when necessary
Identify non-performing suppliers through scorecard monitoring and PPM data analysis
Assisting suppliers in utilising problem solving control tools such as 8D, process mapping, FMEA's, SPC & Process capability/ CPK in line with TS.
Attend technical reviews and monitor design notifications, both customer and supplier driven to ensure robust design and process capability, within the Supply Chain.
Coordinate Supplier APQP for New Programs and Product changes TS16949 Element champion as required
Act as investigation leader or member when required for Corrective and Preventive Action for all Supplier issues.
Support the development of receiving Control Plan and PFMEA ensuring the Receiving Control Plan Complies with Quality, Environmental, and Material Management System requirements as per the relevant master schedule
Follow all company policies and report all unsafe and unhealthy conditions.
Maintain quality/supplier concern log including timely closure
Maintain assigned Quality KPIs
Monitor and report Supplier Performance,
Keep the Purchasing Manager and Quality Manager informed of quality related issues and quality trends in terms of supplier quality performance.
Via data collection, produce the CNQ KPI suite, ensuring timely analysis and investigation, escalating Cost of Non Quality issues to the Purchasing Manager or Senior Buyer.
The role requires both UK and foreign travel and has accountability across UK Operations.
The successful candidate will have:
Working Knowledge of TS16949
Working Knowledge of SPC, FMEA, trials, audits, PPAP, ISIR, 8D problem solving, Ishikawa diagrams, control plans etc.
World Class lean Manufacturing Tools
Full and working understanding of root cause analysis and CAPA
Ability to use the Minitab system
Excellent communication skills
Experience of Supplier management
Experience of managing teams for improvement
General computer literacy (Word, Excel, Power point)
Black/Green Belt Six Sigma is desirable
