General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a 2nd Shift Manufacturing Engineer to join our Manufacturing team on second shift (noon-9:30 PM). The position provides an opportunity to develop and advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to produce the state-of-the-art products that support General Dynamics Mission Systems and our clients. The candidate works under general direction of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and/or Lead. Working independently in a team based environment, the candidate will determine and develop the approach and solutions to manufacturing engineering projects that enable manufacturing to build and deliver circuit card assemblies to specification with continual improvement of time, quality, and cost metrics. This includes but is not limited to the following:
Candidate should have a complete understanding and application of technical principle, theories, and concepts in the field of manufacturing. Provides technical solutions, disposition of discrepant material and root cause corrective action to a wide range of manufacturing problems with solutions are imaginative, thorough, and practicable.
Requires Bachelor's degree with minimum 0-5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidate will have effective oral and written communication skills as well as comfortable making presentations to groups of up to 30 people. Candidate will have experience with manufacturing, preferably in the circuit card industry.
Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
