Responsibilities for this Position:

GDMS has an immediate opening for an experienced Senior Computer-aided Design (CAD) Software Engineer to join our team. The position provides an opportunity to develop the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. GDMS employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to design, develop and manage CAD software solutions for GDMS. The Senior CAD Software Engineer will possess a thorough understanding of the design and documentation requirements ranging for Printed Circuit boards. In addition, the qualified candidate must be experienced in generating designs for digital signal processing, hi-frequency radio frequency printed circuit board designs, and understand routing principles relating to hi-speed routing and interference design. Candidate must have:

  • Multi-layer experience up to 20 layers
  • Knowledge of PCB design and fabrication details
  • Experience working in an Integrated Product Team environment
  • Experience with Mentor Graphic Board Station or Expedition
  • Extensive experience in design, drafting and detailing of mechanical fab, electro-mechanical assemblies, site layouts, floor plans, rack and panels, etc
  • Experieince troubleshoot design data and configuration problems with outside vendors
  • Ability to multi-task and handle numerous jobs simultaneously.

  • Follow industry and department trends and developments to ensure General Dynamics Mission Systems services are consistent with, and/or superior to, industry best practices.

Basic Qualifications:

Candidates should demonstrate sophisticated problem solving skills, as well as an ability to design, develop and implement innovative General Dynamics Mission Systems business solutions.

The Senior CAD Software Engineer must have a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related specialized area or the equivalent, and two to five years of related experience. Applicants with a master's degree and zero to two years of related experience also qualify.

Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
