Responsibilities for this Position:

General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS), a market leader and technology innovator, is seeking talented professionals to deliver cutting edge solutions to our customers.

GDMS has an immediate opening for a Senior Field Support Representative to join our team based at our Scottsdale, Arizona location. This position provides an opportunity to work closely with our military clients in support of systems and equipment vital for their mission. In this role, the Senior Field Support Representative will be responsible for:
  • Performing field activities associated with installing, maintaining, integrating, troubleshooting, testing and servicing of fielded systems/products at customer sites
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hardware, software and systems failures using established procedures and submits reports on system reliability metrics to technical/regional support centers
  • Set-up and utilizing specialized test and diagnostic equipment to isolate malfunctions
  • Assisting engineering teams in determining and solving equipment design problems by setting up special diagnostic test equipment to conduct controlled field experiments and gather engineering data
  • Conducting start-up, cutover and checkout activities on newly installed systems
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing system/equipment interface problems during installations
  • Performing modifications and field changes to installed equipment
  • Conducting orientation and training of customers in the technical operation and maintenance of equipment as well as over-the-shoulder/refresher training to users in the field as required
  • Maintaining complete and accurate logs, documentation of all work orders, spare part inventories and other reports as necessa

The Senior Field Service Representative should have:

  • Fundamental understanding of technologies associated with supported systems
  • Knowledge of basic Cisco commands
  • Ability to use HyperTerminal to bypass password on routers/switches Ability to identify and load an Internal Operating System
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic program-related faults
  • Ability to identify and load an Internal Operating System
  • Knowledge of basic test theory
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to use test & diagnostic equipment such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Knowledge of Electrostatic Discharge safety
  • Knowledge of basic tool safety
  • Knowledge of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning repair and maintenance
  • Knowledge of auxiliary power unit repair
  • Knowledge of construction Safety

Basic Qualifications:

Candidates must demonstrate a passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of emerging technologies, and the ability to effectively manage and protect information systems in a cost-effect manner.

The Senior Field Support Representative posiiton requires at least two years of directly related non-military technical trade school OR 25 weeks of military technical training school and four years related experieince. Equivalent work experieunce will be considered in lieu of required training. Candidate must be willing to:
  • Travel up to 70% of the time.
  • May deploy and operate with US Forces to CONUS or OCONUS field locations, including combat operations
  • Specific Occupational Safety & Health Administration training such as, 10 hours construction training, may be required as determined by management
  • May be required to work outside for up to 10 hours a day

Department of Defense Secret clearance is required at the time of hire. Candidate must possess the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance without any issues requiring extensive delays. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
